This is a fascinating book that helps children, their parents, caregivers, and teachers to discover their personality types. I read the book several times with my 5- and 6-year-old grandsons. They loved the book and asked to read it again and again. Together we made some important discoveries about their personalities and how to emphasize the areas where they are strong and to accept or improve the areas where they are weak. I learned a lot, too, and I'm a Certified Personality Trainer.The book is well-written, easy to understand. The illustrations are exceptional.

What a great way to connect with your kids and get to know them on a deeper level! We were able to use this book at our school it helped us as teachers to see the mixture of personalities in our room and how we might be able to serve them better!! I plan on using this with my own children!!! I even learned a little bit about myself at the same time!!
Wish I would of had this resource years ago when my children were small! Instead I get to use it now to better understand my grandchildren......and what a help it is! A fun and easy way to know and understand each individual child for their own uniqueness! It has helped our whole family to relate to one another in a new more accepting way! Very refreshing to know that there are reasons that we all think and do things differently......it is the way we are created! Truly wonderful insight! Thanks Jami for sharing your insight with us through this fun book!
This was such an incredible book. My kids loved doing the assessments. I know this will be a great resource I'll keep coming back to. These two ladies have thought of everything. There are extra copies of the score sheets in the back, as well as frequently asked questions. There is a mini adult assessment, too. And I love how they show how each personality type in the parent can relate to the individual personalities in the children. For example if you are a Sanguine parent, it will show you how to parent a Melancholy child or any other possible combination. This would be a great gift for a school teacher, as well! Excellent book!
The You Zoo is one of the most unique parenting tools I've ever come across. Offering hands-on methods to discover your child's natural-born personality traits, The You Zoo is an exercise in committed, intentional parenting. The book includes very simple personality testing, geared toward children, that even younger kids can grasp and enjoy. The benefits of using The You Zoo are at least twofold; children can be empowered as they discover the strengths of their unique personality design WHILE parents can gain insight into the "why" behind their child's weaknesses. And, the authors offer tips for parenting through those weaknesses in order to overcome them. What a fun and beneficial tool for both parent and child!
This book is not only full of insight into personalities, it is also appealing to the eye of the child. As a mental health practitioner I find it simple and fun to help a family to better understand their children and even themselves in how they are in their relational interactions as a parent. Being a Sanguine Choleric personality I enjoyed the colorful graphics and the organized fashion the book had in the delivery content.
This is an amazing book! I am a Chaplain and use this book as a quick tool. It helps in accessing personalities of both children and adults. It is a quick way to help children understand the actions of other children who may not react in the ways that they expect. Children don't have the knowledge to understand the actions of others. This is a great way of explaining these, as well as understanding their own reactions. It makes them feel good about themselves and others. We have a severe insecurity problem in our world today. This knowledge helps children , and adults , to understand why we don't act the same in all situations. Children can feel "safe" in being who they are, and be more gracious in accepting others who are not the same.
As parents, and grandparents, it helps us to relate more effectively. We all need to be able to not judge but to understand ourselves, and one another. This is the tool to make this easy!
